The Cottage is a space that engages and brings people together through learning, workshops, events, art, history, social interaction, educational, recreational and supportive activities.
The Cottage is a space by the locals, for the locals an opportunity to learn, contribute and support community development activities.
The Cottage is a space where connections are made and opportunities are realised.
The Cottage is entirely run by volunteers*. You are welcome to become one too.
Come and be a part of the:
- Art Exhibition – a new exhibition every 6 weeks
- Local History room with various displays, maps for suggested walks.
- Lecture and Learn workshops
- Markets with artisan and local produce for sale
- Sunday Meditation- 9 to 10am each Sunday, free
- Book Club
- Craft Group – 2 to 4pm each Tuesday, free
If you need a place to hold a meeting, run a workshop, exhibit your art, sell your local handmade items, become a volunteer or have an idea, please contact us by emailing thecottage@brooklyncommunity.org.au
*Who can Volunteer
All BCA and Associated BCA members .
What does it involve:
Volunteers at The Cottage , opens the doors , sets up signs outside so the public can see the Cottage is open .
End off day, take signage in and lock up the premises.
Minding the cottage to ensure paintings and historical items are kept secure.
Sell paintings ,artwork and craft items .
Welcome visitors to the gallery.
Shifts :
Saturday 10:00 -12:30 or 12:30 -15:00
Sunday 10:00 – 12:30 or 12:30 -15:00
